Summer 2017. A string of brutal police killings of young African American men has sent shockwaves throughout the country. A Black community in the American South tries to cope with the lingering effects of the past. Meanwhile, the Black Panthers prepare a large-scale protest against police brutality.

Roberto Minervini

Fermo, 1970. Director, writer and musical producer. His most recent films, which revolve around life in rural America and of marginal populations, have been greatly aclaimed for his "desmantling certainty." Minervini's films stand out for his use of "documentary contemplation" and dramatic-like elements, going so far as, sometines, mixing both of these elements. Before producing feature filmfilmfillms, he meade a sieres of short films, includind "Voodo Doll," "Come to Daddy," "Notes" and "The Fireflies." Minervini was part of the jury in the secction "Horizons" in the 2014 edition of the Venince Film Festival.
