En la costa oaxaqueña de México, los rumores de épocas anteriores siguen vivos. Cuentos sobre el cambio de forma, la telepatía y los tratos con el Diablo están incrustados en el pasado colonial de la región. La leyenda de Fausto, su literatura y los mitos se mezclan con los habitantes, mientras intentan colonizar y controlar la naturaleza a través de un proyecto de construcción que parece no tener fin. La frontera entre la realidad y la ficción, y lo que se ve y lo que no se ve, desaparece.
